Achmore Loop

Encouraged by the nice sunny weather, 5 people turned up at Charley Barleys for a steady road ride – Neil and his 12 year old son Adam, Jon (on his Trice recumbent), Dave and Ian. We set off at about 9 o’clock and decided on the 18 mile Pentland Road, Acha Mor , Leurbost loop. Adam beat his dad to the top of the climb to Acha Mor, and had to wait for him and Jon to catch up. We stopped for a break on top of the climb, Jon had his breakfast (he had a flask of porridge in his pannier) and Neil had a flask of tea. Adam led the group down the hill to Acha Mor. Jon lost his flag, shaken  out on the cattle grid, and he had to walk back up the road to fetch it. Then we headed back to town via Leurbost arriving back in town at about 11 o’clock.

Rheinigeadal Loop From Scaladale

Paul, John Neil and Gavin (Beastie and Sean called off on the day) made the most of the fabulous weather to tackle an extended version of the Rheinigeadal loop - they started from Scaladale Bridge, went up the old Clisham road, clockwise round the loop and back down the old Clisham road to the Scaladale centre. Big smiles all round, especially after the newly rebuilt descent down to Urgha - awesome! Too mucky for big smiles after the Clisham descent though - a quick dip in the river and a touch of Yoga soon brought the smiles back though!

Tiumpan Head Loop

Beastie and Sean may have called off of the Rheinigeadal loop but they were spotted finishing the Tiumpan Head loop - anticlockwise with a trip to Suilisiadair thrown in!
